CLASS POLICY
Registration and Payment:
Payment in full is required at the time of registration. You may register and pay: In person, in the store, by mail with a check, or by phone with a credit card. Class fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled or you cancel from the class with at least 1 week prior notice. We reserve the right to cancel
class if a minimum of students is not met. If you must cancel a class you will receive a store credit to be used on another class or store merchandise.
Class supplies and kits are not included in the class fee. Supplies must be purchased at Paula’s Fine Fabrics. Patterns and books cannot be shared or photocopied because of copyright laws. Guest are not allowed to sit in on a class.
Students must arrive on time and with your sewing machine in good working order. Machines
are available to rent for $5.00 per class session if you wish not to bring your machine. Please let us
know if you need to rent a machine when you register for class.
Please be considerate of others and turn off your cell phone while in the class room.
MARGO HANDBAG $30
This bag is just the right size and is easy to construct. The top has a zipper closure and lots of pockets, both inside and out. You can customize your pockets for your personal needs. A great project for all those fun fabrics you are never sure what to do with. If you are comfortable doing so, you can cut the pieces according to the measurements given in the pattern before class. Taught by Donna Lawrence.

SUMMER SEWING CAMP $75
Have you been wanting to learn to sew or have you started but want to learn more? This is a great class for you. You will learn how to operate a sewing machine and how to use patterns. You will make a pillowcase and a pair of boxer shorts. I will also show you how to make a simple zipper pouch. If you have a machine, bring it to class. If you don’t there are a limited number of machines available to rent for class. You will also need the following basic sewing supplies. Scissors, Pins, Seam ripper and tape measure. Camp is open to ages 10 and up. Taught by Donna Lawrence. Class is limited to 12 students, so be sure to sign up early.

SKIRT WORKSHOP $30.00
Would you like to start sewing your on clothes but don’t know where to begin? A simple A-line skirt is the perfect project to start with. This class could be the beginning of a whole new wardrobe! You will be using the Barcelona Skirt pattern by Amy Butler which is fully lined with a zipper.

BERNINA MONTHLY SOFTWARE SAMPLER CLUB $10.00
A software lesson is presented with a project showcasing a technique. This is a wonderful way to learn how to fully use all of the software features. You are given a CD containing the video lesson and handouts. PLUS, receive a Club discount on all of your purchases (excluding machines) that day. You must be registered and paid to receive the CD. BERNINA MONTHLY VIRTUAL CLUB $10.00
Come learn all the wonderful features of your BERNINA machine. Presser feet, techniques, short cuts and creative design projects are the focus of each class. If you have registered and paid for the class, you will receive a class CD which includes all of the class information, PLUS, receive a club discount on all of your purchases (excluding machines) that day. BEGINNING QUILTING $45.00
This class is for the very beginner or for anyone wanting to improve their quilting skills. You will make a simple baby sized or wall hanging, learning all the basic techniques of quilting, how to use a cutting mat and rotary cutter, choose your fabrics, how to layer the quilt and how to apply the binding. Taught by Donna Lawrence.

HEIRLOOM CHRISTENING GOWN $55
In this class you will construct a christening gown using swiss batiste, and French laces. You will learn all the techniques of heirloom sewing while constructing this gown. You may choose to make a child’s dress instead of the christening gown. Taught by Paula

BEGINNING SMOCKING $45
In this two week class you will learn basic smocking stitches working on a pleated piece of fabric.

YOGA SKIRT $25.00
This is another quick and easy skirt to make completely on your serger. You can make the entire skirt out of knit, or use woven cotton or linen for skirt and knit for the bank. After you have traced out your pattern you can make one in about an hour, what could be faster or easier? Taught by Paula

This will be class one where you will learn all the basics of your new BERNINA sewing machine. Please bring a pastel colored thread and new size 12 needle. I will provide the fabric. Must have purchased your machine from Paula’s.

In this class you will get to play with a lot of different BERNINA presser feet, learn how to use the memory or combi-mode and BSR if your machine has one.

Creating Special Effects With Your BERNINA Version 6 Software $15.00
In this class you will use the Art Canvas module to create special effects using fonts and objects that can be stitched as embroidery, printed or painted* on fabric. You must be familiar with the basics of your embroidery software for this class. This will be a hands on class. Bring your computer, power cord, mouse, dongle and software installed.

JANE $30
Jane is a peasant-style dress or top and includes pants. The unlined dress and top have a slightly lowered neckline with a casing for elastic, so each garment just pulls easily over the child’s head. We will only make the dress or top during class. This is another class that is great for a beginner.

COVER STITCH SERGER TRAINING
This class is for all new owners of sergers that have the cover stitch feature or if you just purchased the cover stitch only. You will learn the different cover stiches and chain stitch.

See how fast and easy it is to make a great fitting pair of yoga pants on your serger. We have some wonderful knits that are perfect for these. There is now a yoga pants pattern for girls, sizes 6-16. Taught by Paula

BABY LOCK SEWING & EMBROIDERY MACHINE TRAINING
Right I am doing one on one training on the Baby Lock sewing and embroidery machines. So just call the shop (904-519-7705) and ask for Paula. I will schedule a time for you based on which Baby Lock you purchased.
BERNINA DESIGNWORK SOFTWARE CLASS $15.00
Bring your laptop with your DesignWork dongle and software installed. Be prepared to have fun as you learn how easy it is to create new or customize existing DesignWork designs. We will briefly overview the CutWork module but the majority of the class will focus on the two new modules, CrystalWork and PaintWork.
This will be a hands on class so please remember your laptop power cord, mouse
and dongle for DesignWork software.

CRAZY CURVES QUILT $45.00
In this class students will learn how to make a quilt top using 20 fat quarters and the 7” crazy curves template. You will cut 80 blocks fast and easy and will be amazed how quickly you can piece curves. This quilt is based on the drunkard’s path block. Twist and turn finished blocks to arrange your quilt top in different ways. Directions for finishing your quilt will be discussed. Taught by Amy Johnson
