It is necessary to pre-register for all classes. Students are urged to register as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Payment is due upon registration. You may come in or pay over the phone with a credit card. You must cancel at least one week before class to receive a refund. No exceptions. If we must cancel a class you will be contacted and given a full refund. Please ask for a supply list when registering. Class fee is for instruction only. All classes require a kit fee or pattern purchase. If you wish to use one of our class room machines, please let us know when you register for class.

BERNINA MACHINE GUIDE CLASSES - MASTERING YOUR BERNINA
(Each session $55) FREE with your machine purchase at Paula’s Fine Fabrics! This is a series of four classes for new owners of Bernina Sewing Machines. Bernettes thru 220 owners will take session one. 230, 240, 430 and 440 owners will take session l and 2. 630 and 640 owners will take session 1-3 . 730 owners will take all 4 sessions.

BERNINA EMBROIDERY SOFTWARE CLUB $10.00
Enjoy learning how to fully utilize your software and your embroidery machine. The classes are for Version 5 (Editor Plus or Designer Plus) embroidery software and are a mix of projects and techniques. PLUS, receive a 20% club discount on all of your purchases(excluding machines) that day. It is helpful to have a laptop but class material can be viewed via the projector. Taught by Bonnie DiCarlo.

This is a hands-on class that meets each month from Sept.– June. Each month we will make a new project that will help you learn more and more about your machine and all the wonderful accessory feet that are available. You are welcome to come and try a session before committing to the year.

SUMMER WINE QUILT USING THE MEGA HOOP $20.00* NEW CLASS SERIES
Class Requirement: Summer Wine Quilt Book and Bernina Sewing/Embroidery machine that uses the Mega Hoop with auto split feature. This class meets every other month. In class you will receive your instructions for hooping, alignment and stitching (these processes will vary by block). We will also review the class supplies needed for the quilt. You will complete your stitching at home. The blocks have been redesigned to use a combination of the Mega/Large Hoops which helps reduce much of the rehooping and alignment work. Taught by Bonnie DiCarlo. *Class fee is $23.00 if you do not have the Bernina software for printing design patterns.

SASSY SKIRTS $25
Even if you don’t have much sewing experience you can make one of these cute skirts. We will be using the Sassy Skirts book by Cindy Taylor Oates. It has 12 different skirt patterns and you can make yours with an elastic waist or side zipper. Great chance to learn how to put in an invisible zipper. Taught by Paula.

PERFECT FREE MOTION STITCHING/STIPPLING/QUILTING USING YOUR BERNINA BSR FOOT $20.00
Get comfortable with free motion stitching as you create the “PERFECT STITCH” using Bernina’s BSR foot. Even non-quilters will love the BSR for a decorative touch to your project. This will be a hands on machine class using class samples. We will also discuss threads, needles and stabilizers that can vary by type of project using the BSR. Class taught by Bonnie DiCarlo.

In a trunk show Sandra Betzina will bring her latest creations from new patterns and ones about to be released. Get tips on working on some of the new fabrics: stretch wovens, sheers, tulle, silks, and moleskin, vinyl shearling and more. Learn when and how to underline. Learn how to make bias work for you as well as how to prevent drag lines on seams and make invisible hems. Get the lowdown on appropriate seam and hem finishes for a variety of different fabrics. Learn how to make a pant front stay to flatten the tummy, make jean pockets flawlessly, and make a skirt or pant opening pocket. Then finally, learn how to insert flawless invisible zippers.

Tired of trying to get a pair of pants that fit? Begin the class by trying on pant and/or jean sloper in different sizes to determine what size you are at the hip and waist. Sandra Betzina will then adjust what additional pattern alteration you will need for a flat seat, tummy, high and full hips, sway backs, full thighs, etc. You will then cut out the pants or jeans from scrap fabric or muslin. Fit will be refined. Alterations will be transferred to create a master pattern. You now have a pant or jean pattern which fits and can be made again and again.

In all sizes so that students can try them on! Students should bring a Today’s Fit pant pattern purchased by your snug hip measurement. Sandra will bring all sizes of the flat front pant, Vogue 7940 and jeans pattern, Vogue 7608 and New Vogue 2913. In order to obtain accurate measurements, avoid wearing clothing that is too tight or it will distort your figure.

SHADOWWORK EMBROIDERY $25
You will be surprised at how easy this form of hand embroidery is. I will teach you both methods of doing it, the closed herringbone stitch and the back stitch. Also you will learn basic embroidery stitches to go along with the shadowwork. Shadowwork can be beautiful and elegant or fun designs for children. Taught by Paula
